Any time that a new category springs up, I think that many people tend to assume that its potential is limited. Like, ‘it’s fine-n-dandy for there to be one or two producers of wild blueberry sparkling wine, but could this really flourish and expand?’ We (at R A S Wines, and I know the same is true of the Bluet folks) feel strongly that the answer to that is yes! Our wines are dramatically different from Bluet’s, because we’re different people, and that’s so even though we both have an allegiance to terroir and both want this amazing fruit to express itself directly and vividly through the wine, without undue manipulation. So, if (when?) you decide to join in the effort, your wine will necessarily express who you are and how you think about and enjoy wine.
